Poem -

Losing a Pet

Losing a pet
Is like losing a part of you
You feel empty
Like something is missing
Something is missing
Your best friend is gone

They have no words
Which seems to hurt the most
No expression
No emotion
No feelings other than the ones they radiate
Comfort
Joy

They have no words
Which make them the best listeners
They hear you out when no one else will
They will never tell your secrets
They will never turn their back on you
They silently, truly care

They have no words Which makes it hard to tell how they're doing
No requests
No complaints
Just a face that tells you "Don't worry about me. I'm fine."
A face that you will never forget

Losing a pet is like losing your mind
Even when they're gone
You see them everywhere
You can feel their touch
You can hear them calling your name
It kills you inside

Why is their time with us so short?
They grow up so fast
Only to leave us even faster
Their 9 lives aren't enough
Forever isn't long enough

The way they steal your heart
With their innocent eyes
They could never hurt you
They only know how to love
Which makes it so easy to love them back

Their food bowl
Their collar
Their favorite toy
These are the only things they leave behind in this world
Serving as instant reminders of your lifelong pal

Losing a pet is like losing your voice
Because there are no words to describe your grief
Just like they didn't have the words to tell you how much they loved you
Yet you always knew that they did

R.I.P Misty- the best cat anyone could ask for.
