Losing Sight

In a world full of people.
You can lose sight of it all.
The darkness inside you can make you feel so small And that's not all how In a world so big you still feel so small . How can I make it big if I'm set up to fall. And thats not all being a young teenager in America is tough man being black is even more rough fam. Damn.! When do we get break.? When do we get a chance to say we relate. Or do we still got eat scraps off the white mans plate. I live for the day I can put my feet up telling my kids to eat up. We got more than enough. I wish I got the feeling to be stuffed. But instead I live in a world where I'm smothered can even breath because I'm colored. -India

Great insight, vision and hope in your words. I'm not a critic or Gods gift to writing Lol, but If I may ask how many revisions did it take for you to complete your final draft? Be sure to "Breathe" in thought and make sure your atmosphere supports or embodies your mindset to write...Let the transitions from verse to verse come smoothly.
Thank you so much. I agree lol
For me this shows the suffering of so many. The plight of an individual and a nation..world actually. Great job in expressing those deep emotions..xo
Thank you so much for your thoughts ?
Shyam, first off welcome! This poem is so intriguing and comes from a place of emotional suffering and chronicles the struggles of a disenfranchised person without hope, all because of the color of their skin, to me that is horrifying to hear....hope is something everyone should have regardless of skin color, social standing, religious belief, political affiliation, gender...and to read this narrative you present; so very well, makes me very sad indeed, as a man of color, who has faced racism and other pit-falls, I have never lost hope, so I'm profoundly sad to read about someone who has, solely due to the color of the skin they were born into....well written, full of sincerity, excellent subject matter, Shyam....hoping to read more from you
