Lost Black Sea

Where am I suppose to be?
Life has lost me in the black sea.
My heart has a hole thats endless,
My body, and mind constantly filled with stress.
Cover it up with a charming smile, but that can last only a little while.
I dreamt of myself as someone better, not some one who needs to get better.
Life is crazy, and a maze to me.
I'm stuck, and blind.
I left myself somewhere that's impossible to find.
I can't keep going, and let these tears keep flowing.
Soon I'll drown you see, and I'll forever be lost in this big black sea.

Often first writes get overlooked, which is a shame because often the writer is really revealing something and putting tremendous effort into it, first impressions and all that. I'll admit just the title had me a little uncomfortable at first. Not the lost part, but the black sea. The reason for this is the symbolism. Sea represents the subconscious mind and black, well black tends to represent emptiness (the absence of light and colour).
I can sense dark depths in your mind Heather, but the expression and release of that darkness/pain is vital. In fact it creates something. In this case a tragically beautiful poem that for me creates the powerful image of lone ship amongst the crashing waves of a dark tempestuous sea.
It's a rough ride but the silver lining is that pain allows for some wonderful artistic expression. Your poems really make the reader feel and I'm glad I came across this first gem.
5*s and a favourite (or favorite in America).

Regards Mark.
