Lost Memory

I saw the war when earth was in toil from birth pains of hate
I still have the sores that once championed me a vet
I remember my honey though I was here while she went
On off to glory still so beautiful.. I bet
I know when we wed a sweet April sunset
Our children look like strangers as ones never met
Some days I feel great anguish, pain ,and in confusion I get
Beside myself though I recall and soon after forget
Who lives in these walls is this where we built
Our home our life and memories that always sit
In the chambers of my heart lost in a driftless wind
Places me there and on the edge of vividness i rekindle
Precious time hoping it wont end then you go away again and again
