Lost In Presence

Lost In Presence

The day you came home with me on that warm Sunday morning,

I never expected to be lying here soaking up my tears letting memories pass through,

Yet here I am mourning your death when I should be remembering your life.

It is a hard fight I must put up, to get myself through the day.

Just seconds ago it feels as if you were a puppy however here your cold body lays.

Rest in peace little one I’ll miss your lively bark,

My love for you is a burning fire caused by just one spark.

The spark of which I speak of is the one caused by the look in your big brown eyes,

You will be an everlasting memory till the day I finally die.

God put you on this earth to be someone’s friend,

And my dear old dog you did your job you were truly my friend till the end.
