LOVE CLAUSE

You like 6 or 7 waffles in the morning and to be held without intentions
You have a hard time trusting baby, that's why you're always asking questions
The first time around we lost the farm
This time it's one plus two, third times a charm

I'll sign your contract of love, even with this clause
I know you want a house, big yard for lots of dogs
I'd drive all night to just to buy you some jeans
When you come home from Michigan, I'll give you all these things

I'm not one to conform to all your wants and needs
I been standing under a tree in a lightning storm and I planted the seed
Waited 30 years to watch it grow, stood out in the rain, weathered the snow
But tonight I'm chopping it down, to build a life, come on let's go!

I'll sign your contract of love, even with this clause
I know you want a house, big yard for lots of dogs
I'd drive all night to just to buy you some jeans
When you come home to Jersey, I'll give you all these things

Been working for a check, workin up a sweat
I been questioning my choices, revoking my bet
Putting down the lust, picking up the love
Chopping down the old me, all the above
