Love Declared

WOMAN:

"Why do you look at me?"

"Why do you stare,

is it my face, or perhaps my hair?"

MAN:

"Woman, can you not see?"

"Can you not tell, tell what

woes befall me?"

WOMAN:

"What has that got to do with your stare?"

She said with a glance and a glare.

He breathed in, he sighed trembling....

MAN:

"Can you not see I love thee?"

"Can you not tell all?"

"My love for thee is so great,

it seems I can hardly breathe,

I can hardly eat, can hardly sleep,

believe me my love runs that deep.

She stared at him now, dumbfounded,

Oh my God!

How could I be so blind? she said in her mind

How could I not know love of that kind?

She walked closer and closer,

until she reached his side,

grabbed his face, and kissed him, making him sigh.

MAN:

"What is this? he asked, bewildered, yet thrilled.

WOMAN:

"It is love,  true love; a most wonderful feeling,

so be silent, my love and let your heart be still,

for I too love you and forever will!"
