Love song

Love song

You know I wrote you a love song,
many years ago, but I couldn't let it go.
So when you came back to me,
I smiled when I saw you so happy that I thought I could show it to you.
So I went to go and say it, but it turns out,
you were getting married and you needed my help.
You said you wanted a love song, about your's and her's first night, how it was love at first sight.
I asked why can't you write it, it's about your love after all.
You said I can't get the words right, every time I try, it never sounds right.
So you told me all the details, how you met in a club,
how you called it love.
I promised you your love song, so when you left that night,
I wrote your love song,
made the words fit right,
while wiping away the tears I cried.
When I finished your love song, I remembered mine,
how it made me feel all right.
So I wrote another love song, about our first fight,
how you'd spend the night.
Drinking hot coco, staying up all hours,
laughing while our sibling would fight.
I called it our love song, not that it was true, at least not for you.
You came to pick up your love song.
I was tiered from staying up all night.
I gave you a love song, and you held me tight,
said I made everything right.
I was slowly dieing inside, but I kept my face expression light,
while I wished you luck with the rest of your life.
Well you came back that night, turns out you and your girlfriend had a fight.
You said I screwed up,
that these weren't your words, that I ruined you life.
I took the piece of paper, the words all typed, and it was about our fights.
You asked when the hell was this,
so I looked up into the eyes I once missed.
I said,
I wrote your love song,
made the words sound right,
I did everything you asked.
I didn't mean to give you our love song, cause you never asked,
and now I know why.
But I wrote you a love song, once many years ago,
and once again last night.
If you had loved this girl, you go and give her your own love song,
make your own words fit right,
And I said good night, and turned away. I had nothing left to say.
All you anger dropped away,
as you went and held me tight.
I can't believe you wrote me a love song,
you said, I never asked,
cause I thought were were just friends.
You see I asked you to write my love song,
cause I couldn't make the words sound right.
I guess that's because it's not a love song,
and I know it now,
that it's you that belongs in my arms now.
Can I write you a love song,
to right all the things and ways I've done wrong?
So I looked at you, a smile on my face.
I'm kind of sick of love songs, but you can make it up,
if you make our love strong.
I never wrote another love song,
there was just no need,
I felt as right as I could be.
