Love the Ones They Call Your "Enemy"

The gold of Sheba

The frankincense of Magan

The myrrh of Ophir

The blood of my veins

The song of my spine

It's Christmas and I'm outside time

Or space perhaps or race

I'm at the local mosque

With neighbours that I love

The sun is setting

All is cleansed

Ready to make amends with The Friend

Shalom is evoked

It bounces off the walls

Between the arches

As the groan of the adzhan rises

I love this atmosphere

As my nobel peers prostrate

To reflect on my own kaaba

And how his Sabaean kin adored

The key of Solomon

That unlocked their every road

Leading to a kingdom of light

Signposted by heavenly satellites

Heir to the Throne of Grace

In whom I have my peace

This house of God

Whose bricks include my heart

So together we make a covenant ark

And nuke the fears sown in the dark

My oil to overflow and melt hostility like snow

Despite the designs of the atheist god

To divide us and conquer

Abraham's witness will not be overcome

We will just love stronger
