Lovely Lil Faces

Dressed in soft skin
Delightfully scented
Pale when life begins
Breast milk contented

Fist and feet a blazed
Legs and arms trailing
Peeping but dazed
Their cries proclaiming

As their faces differ
So too their needs
Temperaments or temper
Hard to say who leads

The push through pain
Blood and water a due
But for what is gain
Forever joys to pursue

Lovely lil faces
Tel ling's of unity
Nest and forgotten places
And their race to maturity

Where it all began
A blur to be sure
Where it will end
Time and test the lure

Oh to be cuddled
And kept warm and fed
Wrapped and bundled
Are joys beyond the wed
