Sun blinded
we walk hand in hand
through the ancient pathways
of the old city.

Rome whispers in my ear
soft breaths of warmth.
The echoes of millenniums.
Touching my very soul.

How can I ever forget you?
softer in the nighttime ,
your breath intoxicates me.
How can I not feel your love?

In the company of all history.
We are but part of its spell.
Lovers caught in its magic.
Rome is my place
my place is with you..

At last to feel
whole once more.
Melting into my fate.
Past meets future
in an instant.

The city softer
than all softness.
Hold me my love
inhale this moment.
It is the answer
to all questions
ever asked.
Fulfilled
from a golden promise.
