Poem -

Hearts + Stuff

You steal me sir with roving eyes
a flattering word and I the prize
And oh, that mother taught me
well, that ladies never fume or swell

With outrage sir, for I must play
the lady part and dare not say
I have a heart and fire it holds
if only I could be so bold

But oh, that father taught me well
Within this manly world I dwell
To play in life the lady part
And kill the venom in my heart

And so in mariage, I thee take
With horror, a new life to make
Within a manly world I dwell
To you a wife... for me love's hell.

M ~

🤔 in regards to the release of one T. Swift's The tortured poet's department (which I feel is one of the most recent ridiculous things) are you true to this title. A plight of actual recognition. I like it! There should be more of this.

Mine neither, M. Mine neither. I've got some wine put aside to help it go down. Or maybe I'll just listen to Jim Morrison
