"The Lunatics Have Taken Over The Asylum"

I will confess my weakness to you
I will acknowledge my sinfulness
But I will not stand before you
And tell you I'm insane
Just because you're a Doctor of medicine
Does not make you a better man
Often, it is only a small thing
That troubles me daily and depresses me
And in my heart I determine
To act more courageously
But when I come to you
Expressing exactly what I feel
Why must you use condescension
And then, offer me a pill
When I think that I'm somewhat safe
Because I'm not "under fire"
It's just then that you strike at me
Using words like insane desire
How can you lump me in with every lunacy
That you've ever seen
It seems I get my best advice
From other patients here in pain
I admire their opinions more
Even if they're in a medicated state
Because I think that their diagnoses
Are unwittingly accurate and you can't deny them
It seems to me, that, the Lunatics
Have taken over the asylum....

i love this. i always thought the ones that wear their madness on their sleeves are the freest of us all. they say what no one else does, and ask the questions we are all too afraid to ask.
Hey Carolyn!!.........thanx so much for taking the time with this.........your feedback is Very much appreciated.......and I agree with you about those who wear their madness on their sleeves.........love and rockets!!............T xx
True 'ting' T, true 'ting'...so well said my brother....I have such a high regard for the medical profession, and never want to ball everyone together, but at times wow, they can be condescending to those they have dedicated their lives to healing, in my family I'm surrounded by nurses and I actually worked as an 'orderly' for one year at the age of nineteen and it's a tough gig, the term 'pill pusher' is almost an everyday term round these parts ....you always inspire me with your diplomacy in the midst of a storm approach, T, felt the passion in this write but it never became an all out assault, that's so fascination to me...cool headed and reasonable; my Captain! I'm ready to go to war with you brother! And these is another word for that approach as well, it's called 'class' and you have that in abundance, to be sure....beware of condescending 'pill pushing' 'pricks' and ode to 'class' and diplomacy in the midst of the storm....cheers, big guy, hope all is well with you

Hey Chris!!........somehow I am not surprised that you were surrounded by nurses .........you have such a way of accenting the positive..........in your words.....and their intent.........not the kind of thing that is taught but learned...........have I told you I Love You today?........well, i'll wait for hugs-n-kisses when you visit.......maybe grab your butt and express my total appreciation for all of your kindnesses toward me and my writing...........Love and Rockets brother..........T xx
