Lyme Disease in Spring

Lyme Disease in Spring

It is now spring time and you are still here with me
Another year has gone by suffering with this disease
Even though there is no cure, you remain by my side
Feeding me the strength I need to get by; to stay alive

I am looking out the window as the light shines through
This spring, all I want is to spend a day outside with you
I keep praying for a miracle to take the pain away
So we can walk hand in hand through the sun’s rays

But for now this is just a simple wish of my own
If it were not for you, this would be another season alone
Hopefully one day in the near future someone out there
Will be able to find a cure for this disease to share

Until that day arrives, I will sit in the dimly lit room
Dreaming about witnessing exterior beauty with you
It is now spring time; a season filled with happiness
Only this year, this time I am filled with sadness

You got my attention once again with your words...making me once again want to reach out to you...
After reading this I looked into your disease once again hoping I could find something new for you...
I am going to send a couple of links in hope it may trigger a new idea or path to take in your journey for a cure....A big vote and nomination from me beautiful...Lets rid this ridiculous bloody illness from such a beautiful hearted woman...And the thousands of others...My prayers are always with you girl..

Carey - I can honestly say your comment brought tears to my eyes. Jason is sitting right next to me and as I read your comment he asked me why I was crying and all I could manage to say was don't worry - they are happy tears. If you lived close to me I would run over to you and give you a huge hug! Not only did you read my poem but you took time out of your day to look up links to help me find other ways to cope with my disease. You have such a kind heart and I feel truly blessed to have you as a friend on here with your full support. I am about to read your message with the links and I am excited to see what you were able to find. Thank you for your prayers and for the nomination! It means more to me than you will ever know! :)

Love Always,

Val <3

Hi Susan - Thank you for reading! I wrote a story called Lyme Disease is Killing Me and it's on page 4 of my writings. It gives a little more insight into what I went through the past couple of years and what I continue to battle with on a daily basis. For a person to be in remission in Lyme disease your CD-57 score has to be 180 or above. As of last month my score was at 21. I don't know why I am getting worse and on top of having Lyme I have accumulated several additional illnesses - for example Fibromyalgia, extremely high blood pressure and tachycardia - just to name a few. I wish this disease had more advocates because it is an invisible disease that slowly kills you and so many people out there are unaware it even exists. Thank you again for your sweet comment and I appreciate you taking the time to read my poem.

Love Always,

Val ♥️
