MADELINE

As I walk alone this lonely road,
under this weather that’s freezing cold,
with broken heart and a shattered soul
and years that have taken its toll.

With many a story that yet be told,
as my future slowly unfold.
I gaze at the abyss and wonder
hoping life’s mysteries will itself unravel.

It was but a dream when we first met
and loved with a love that was no less than  great. 
I dream a dream that you would stay
and beside you, I will forever lay.

Through your eyes I saw eternity,
but could not change a sad reality
that we’re both victims of the cruelty
of our very own destiny.

As I walk alone this lonely road,
hoping it was your hands I hold,
and as I lay myself to sleep
you’re loss I will forever weep.
