Maggots

The cliff side
Stood tall and free
No match for the enormity
Of the sea
Freedom ebbed away
Little by little
Day by day
Inevitable collapse
But still unique
Sharp edges of rock remain
Different from other pebbles on the beach
The sea strikes again
Removing all uniqueness
Until all the rocks look the same
Smooth and uniform
Defeated players
In an unwinnable game
The many colours
Of plasticine
Representing
Different dreams
Mixed together
To form brown
In vast ocean..
Thoughts drown
Wings are clipped
Metamorphosis in reverse
Until all animals in the heard
Look and act the same
Wriggling in unison
Consumption of everything
Soon it's gone
Driven by greed
How they feed
Breathing through their arse holes
Pulsating
Pupating
How they stink
Fleshy pink
