Maisie’s Magical Imagination?‍♀️

Maisie’s Magical Imagination?‍♀️

My Granddaughter’s world is the most magical of lands
She plays with pretty pixies & fairies, they take a hold of her hands
I hear her chuckling with merriment outside on our grass
Tho I can’t see her companions
Maisie sounds such a happy lass

Yesterday afternoon I called her in for our tea
I heard her say” Peterpan, Tinker Bell, are you coming with me?
My Grandma won’t mind, if you come in with me,
She will give you some cookies & ice cream you see”

Well Maisie came in & she sat down on her chair
Her little face all aglow with her short chestnut hair
“Grandma” she says
“I asked my friends to see you,”
They were all  going to say yes
But it’s simply not what they do
Whilst they play with me, I am only just small
But I know they are invisible with adults thats tall”

I looked at my little one & I gave a small sigh saying “Oh that doesn’t matter, tho at least you did try”
So the two of us sat & we ate up our tea
Then Maisie said “ Grandma, my mermaids are waiting on me”
“Okay little one go into the garden, have fun,
I shall call your name when the daytime is done”

Well with a nod & a smile
As I watched her from my window
Maisie went out for a while
to my garden below
I listened to her giggling,
laughing & playing
I couldn’t see anyone else
Tho I heard what she was saying
She was using her magnificent imagination
As if folklore was with her deep in conversation
