Mama‘s pride and joy ?

Mama‘s pride and joy ?

“Rock-a-bye baby”
Mama sings sweet lullabies
as bonny baby Bethany closes her sleepy eyes
Hushed is the lament of her whimpering cries
until she wakes up with her wailing in the dawn chorus sunrise

Mama lifts her out of the cradle with a cuddle and a hug
Bethany is swaddled snuggly as a bug in a rug
Mama carries her out to the garden
to show her a ladybug
As they sit in the sunshine Mama slurps from her coffee mug

Mama makes Bethany a daisy chain
as the southerly wind blows the weather vane
and the warmth from the sunshine does wax and wane
Bethany startles with the roar from an aeroplane

But Bethany is Mama’s pride and joy
so chuffed was she when she wasn’t a boy
In her liittle dress of red corduroy
rattling in her hand her teething toy

Beautiful Bethany’s blonde curly hair
makes heart’s melt as they become aware
This little child captivates everyone there
as she sits on Mama’s lap on the rocking chair
