Man Up Bro

Man Up Bro

I refuse to fight
I will not get drawn in
to your under-developed ego

You're old enough to have heard it:
"chip on the shoulder"
And old enough to know,
the problem lies with the chipped

I will smile
I will laugh
I will delight
in my journey

Life is too short
to waste time working
so hard to make
other people miserable

I have struggles
You think you're the only one?
But I don't need to justify this:
my ability to find joy in the pain

I know your type well,
was married to it for years:
can't be happy
and can't let others be happy

Well mate,
if those zillion cigarettes--
their tombs strewn all round your yard--
aren't quite doing it for you,

don't blame us,
and remember to have
a lovely day!
