The Man Who Walks

The Man Who Walks

A man walks a maze; knowing not the end…nor the beginning

Dressed in black, holding nothing but weight of his choices

He treks across the wasteland; two irons his loyal dogs

His name Adam, reborn into this bastardized Eden

What God left us too; we have finally soiled

The final extinction, inevitability wrought in his futile struggle

Yet struggle he does, knowing death creeps with him

When the yellow tinges, and the sockets are hollowed deep

When his teeth loosen, and the muscles atrophy. He walks eternally.

Still this puny creature rages…hoping against his only salvation to find earthly peace

Looking for his Eve, doomed to die; please let him pass wrapped in the sweet embraces

Keep walking my hero, the last of us. Keep marching on into eternity
