" In Margot's Field "

" In Margot's Field "

Amongst the ancient, primitive, lands
When the world was young
A comely maiden
Called Margot had come
To plant a field of golden poppy
Where, while in it's midst
Dreams and dances with the devil
Came to seekers of truth
And the easy way
Out
But when a man's heart was golden
And in Margot's Field
The good man took repose
His dreams became
The stuff of conqueror's
And the birth
Of scientific matters
That circumvented
The Church
And evolved into the Church itself
For in Margot's Field
The poppy's wet
Did take a man's soul
And weave it into
The holy verses
Of God's
Scribes........
