Market Day

We're off to the market,
today is the day.
May has arrived,
children will be no longer deprived.

There's a hustle and bustle
in this little town.
I look all around
and see a mile long crowd.

Flowers, baskets, and ribbons galore,
I stop at the door because
I still have not found
what I came in search for.

But the day is not done,
it's only just begun.
For today is the day
that it's finally May.

And we're off to the market
on this very fine day.
