Poem -

married but single

married but single

God help me, I don't understand

if he doesn't love me why did he take my hand?

I am so confused but yet so mad

I'm not good enough to match the cash in his hand.

now we are married but I feel very alone

most times I'm lucky if I hear from him by phone.

I feel there's someone else and I cant take it anymore

I feel he only wants me for his nanny, his cook and at times his whore.

what do I do because I just don't know?

should I stay and lock up my feelings or say goodbye and just go?

god please tell me what I did to deserve this life?

it seems he chose his job and not me for his wife.

I'm married but single not to mention scared

maybe  things would be different if he really cared.

if its over please just tell me

if you don't love me then set me free!

I'm married but single and I know what I see

weather it's someone else or his "wife of a job"

I know he's cheating on me!

If drawn from your own experience , this poem probably resonates with many married women out there who are married but lonely , so you're not alone .

As a poem it's well written and from the heart . Keep writing !

this is indeed a very good poem, kathy jo baker, emotionally charged with a subject matter that pulls sympathy, a broken relationship with no trust is painful and difficult to write about...and it is written with much skill as well, hope it all works out and welcome
