Mask of Lies

Mask of Lies

Trust is not something to take for granted,
awful experiences leave some marred
while some may be easily enchanted
to let down their guard
A fatal mistake to make
when dealing with someone hiding
behind a mask, a fake
who has known nothing but lying
Double-crossing you before you know it
you ignored the warnings but
now you must admit:
what you thought to be is not quite clear-cut
Bitterness edged promises don’t mean a thing
When lies sharpen the unseen sword you swing

Hello aiishh...

Welcome to Cosmo!

I wonder if it's in part to test the person's integrity...

See if they're different and they are a person of their word and one who could be trusted...

Liars are seen the brightest, like a Neon sign...

Someone, is tested more if they actually do what they say...

Great write!

Thank you for sharing...

Hugs...
