NOWHERE NEAR

Hard did I try
to paint your picture
but one thing or the other
fell short always!
 
All colours I used,
in all proportions,
in all combinations;
All techniques I used,
old and modern, but
to come out with a
lifeless picture;
All my efforts in vain!
 
It’s then I knew
God has gifted you
with emotions
enough to suit
any occasion,
making you lively,
beautiful and cheerful
which no colours could!
 
It’s then I stopped
painting your picture,
but kept you in my mind,
untraceable to others,
making me happy always,
nothing falling short this time!
