Matterings

I turn my face to sun and close my eyes.

I listen to the birds twittering in the skies.

The scent of new beginnings in the air.

The drone of an aeroplane going somewhere.

The cat is stalking a bug in the grass.
I watch him as he wiggles his ass.

I sip my coffee and think of my life in tatters

But right now, in this brief moment
NOTHING ELSE MATTERS
