Poem -

ME AND MY CATERPILLAR

I was sat on my cabbage leaf

Minding my p`s and q`s.

Also on my cabbage leaf

Was a caterpillar with the blues.

He was very hungry and very scared

He`d been waiting there for ages

Pretending not to be there.

So there waiting, he just sat.

Because, on a chair, sat Mr Fat Cat.

Mr Cat was sunning himself without a care

Quite nice and comfy on his big soft chair.

He`s a big fat hairy thing

With lots of sharp teeth and claws.

He`s also, almost, the size of a horse.

" If I wait here quietly "

The caterpillar said,

" He won`t notice me

Then when he`s gone

I can climb down and be free "

So he curled up tight

As small as he could be

And prayed to mother nature herself.

" Oh look " she said, " I think Mr Caterpillar needs lots of help "

So she sent a little buzzy bee

Who was all stripes and buzz

That cleverly scared the cat up a tree.

See patience is a thing

Mr Caterpillar has!

To time and time again, escape from scary Mr Fat Cat.
