ME AND MY CATERPILLAR

I was sat on my cabbage leaf
Minding my P`s and Q`s!
But also on my cabbage leaf was another caterpillar with the blues!
He was very hungry, but very scared!
He`d been waiting there for ages
Pretending not to be there!!
So there waiting, he patiently sat!
Because right there on a garden chair! sat Mr Fat Cat!!
Mr Fat Cat was sunning himself without a care
Quite nice and comfy on his big soft chair!
He`s a great big fat hairy thing!
With lots of sharp teeth and claws!
He`s also, almost, the size of a horse!!
" If I wait here quietly "
The caterpillar said!
" He won`t notice me
Then when he`s gone...I can climb down and be free "
So he curled up tight!
As small as he could be!
And he prayed to Mother nature herself!
" Oh look ".... she said! ...." I think Mr Caterpillar needs my help! "
So she sent a little Buzzy Bee
Who was all stripes and buzz!
Who cleverly scared Mr Fat Cat up the tree!
See...! patience is a thing that us Caterpillar`s have!
So just in time for tea!
We both escaped from that scary Mr Fat Cat!

Our dear Georgina,
If only Mother Nature could do the same for all the people fleeing the tyranny in their countries, only, instead of scaring them up a tree, wash the tyrants away in her mighty oceans and rivers, ridding the world of them forever. I interpret this beautiful write as a symbol of innocent good, versus malevolent evil. A carefully calculated cocoon of creativity.
Love ya,
xox Larry
Hi my lovely Larry,
I wrote that one for my grandson Jack who is five and just learning to read, it was well received because he made me read it to him four times at bed time. So it has met with his royal approval I think!! I`m glad you enjoyed my little bit of silliness too sweetie. I like the way you have interpreted it too.
I love you both too
