Poem -

For me For mine

All the demands,
Coming my way,
Required being met,
Taking them face on.
They don't care a no how,
Just get the job done.
All the overwhelming responsibilities,
Sets the head on edge,
And a little smack into a spin.
Hurry up and grab it,
While it's tottering on the ledge.
Somehow we manage,
To get our feet down under,
That nonstop spinning top,
Grasping hold of these situations,
Narrowing out one by one,
Watching them squeeze me,
For every last drop.
By the time I get behind,
I see their folded arms of expectation,
Asking me without words,
Please rise up a ball of fire and shine,
Put right all that's wrong with the universe.
One of us will be left,
Shaking their heads,
And it won't be me.
Finally finding,
Someone to prove myself to,
Which is I,
Not you.
