Me & my shadow

I went walking in the sunshine on my lonesome today but ‘brrrrr tis getting chilly’ is all I gotta say
Tho I was stepping out quite quickly to the rhythm of a beat trudging thru the grassy heathland on the soft mossy peat

I was aware of the changes from a few weeks ago, there wasn’t any buzzy bees or butterflies fluttering you know...gone was the singing Skylark that I loved to hear, our sounds of the Summertime... one’s familiar cheer

Only me & my shadow that I cast from the light as I felt the Autumnal air with the hills for my sight...I inhaled the heather aroma enriched from the morning dew, exhaling puffs of condensation from the air that was blue

Such a splendid dander on an Autumnal day with the crispness on the clover as I tread along my way...delighting at the changing colours with the russet bronzed trees, a scattering of rustling leaves in the gentle blowing breeze
