Poem -

Meaningless Colors

Here, on the parched and hungry ground I lie,

Here in this war torn world I cry,

Here, in this godforsaken life I try,

Under a faded crimson sky.

Here I  hide out of fright,

From the ghostly sight,

Wondering when there will be light,

In the brooding bloody black night.

I pledge my life and give new birth,

And give everything that I am worth,

And just look at the dearth,

Of life on the amber-colored earth.

To the bloody deaths and execution,

I have payed my contribution,

And the waste and verbal pollution,

Helping to fuel an auburn stained revolution.

The pain, suffering and the slaughter,

Of innocents, the peace does totter,

The world as we know it falters,

Beneath the cover of azure waters.

It rises up, in a wonderful spire,

Built with the greed and desire,

Against the king they do conspire,

Behind the tier of burgundy fire.

Disease and insufferable pain,

Crying out but always in vain,

Keep me from going insane,

Soaked and heavy by the mahogany rain.

Change it may but this is life,

No love for poor man and wife,

No sound but the melody of the fife,

Ended with a cool gray knife.
