Memories

I want to speak but no words will come

I want to escape but there's nowhere to run

I want to feel once more the warmth of you

I don't want to believe this is actually true.

I can not accept all I've known is at an end

It is all too much for this soul to comprehend

You. You were everything that I lived for

Now I won't be seeing your smile any more

You. You were the one who completed me

Now I face an uncertain future grey and empty

Your loss is indescribable pain and torment

This mind and body are completely spent

To breathe, in darkness, takes all my power

I can only just sit here, for yet another hour,

With memories.

Memories, besides staying sane may serve as examples in first person, there are memories bright and sweet as honey and memories of dark and bitter as gall, but both one and the other are learning things.

Structure composition is perfect and full of emotion.

A hug for you Lucas ! So pleased to have your opinions and insights on my work again. This was a piece written from the perspective of a person who has just lost a love. Time will hopefully ease the grief of this soul and memories will bring a smile ! However memories are always tinged with sadness once those who were there with you making them are no longer around.
