Memory's Forest

Memory's Forest

A lone saxophone
Lost
In the forest
Blows
A suspended cry
Echoing
Like waterfalls
Upon the lilting wind
Tickling
Baby squirrels
On treetops tips
Bringing a single tear
To a little girl
Who daydreams
To herself
Of her father's music
His saxophone missed
And why it is
That here
Among the trees of this
Her Memory's forest
She recalls his face
So very well
And feels like the animals
Of memory's forest
Are cradled
And loved
By treetops promise
Just as she feels
This most musical
And magical
Afternoon
Has created
New moments
With a father long gone
And breathed life
Into his memory
By a visit
Into
Memory's Forest...

Hello Tony...

My new place is in the middle of the Forest actually...

The music from the singing of the tree frogs and the lightening bugs glowing in the trees...

You throw in the saxophone and of course ticklish baby squirrels...

Beautiful write my friend!

Hi there Tony ,
captured to perfection ?????
Your poem created a clear visual in my mind as a reader and I could feel the calmness and sootheness of the woods with that melodious music in the background where one can spend hours and hours. This blends completely with the sadness of the little girl who misses her beloved dad.theatrical experience to be honest.

What Depth in poetry you have attained dear brother.I have no words to express how ecstatic I feel to be connected with visionary intellects like yourself and few others that I have the the privilege to read work of.
I really thank you for this beautiful imagery presented so gracefully
?????
peace and best regards

Amazing comment CHARU!!.....wow!!.....you're such a great supporter of poetry itself.....I REALLY think you've found a home here...... the way you convey your thoughts/opinions about writers efforts shows how much you love it!!.....I have a question (hope you don't mind)....... Cherie and I were trying to figure out if the name Charu is a man's or woman's name...... we really can't tell by your poetry exactly ~ so, if you.don't mind, could you clear this up for us?......we're betting that you're a man!! .......anyway, thank you SO much for this incredibly astute commentary dear poet brother?!?.......a pleasure to hear from you!!.....I am your cyber-friend and admirer.......T xo ?✴?✴❤

My Dear Tony,

In the solitude of the forest
She hears her Father's songs
His saxophone's lost symphonies
From days ago long gone

.
The treetops sway in unison
To his every perfect note
Then his lips so gently kiss her
His Spirit on her e'er dotes

Peace, Love, and Melodies,
Larry xxx

Hey Tony, loved this one, you have this knack of instilling imagery into your poetry with such prowess it's uncanny to say the least. felt drawn into this as i read.
there is always a trigger  to remember those near and dear for me it was the smell of my grandads pipe, for this little girl its the saxophone. cool read as always my friend.

Having played a saxophone since I was 16, I could appreciate the sentiments expressed here in this beautifully descriptive write, Tony. ♫♪?♪
It's funny how a particular song can transport us back in time to the place we first heard it, or prompt us to reminisce about an important event that happened in our lives.
Music can evoke emotions of great sadness as here with this little girl having lost her beloved father, or make us giddy, swimming in fond memories.
Wonderfully well written, "Sweet "T"...
