Memory's Forest

Memory's Forest

A lone saxophone
Lost
In the forest
Wails
A suspended C-major
Echoing
Like waterfalls upon the wind
Tickling
The baby squirrels
On the tips and tops of trees
Bringing
A single tear
To a little girl
Daydreaming to herself
Of  her father's saxophone
And why it is
That here
Among these trees, of this,
Memory's Forest,
That she remembers him
So well
And feels like the baby squirrels
Are cradled,
And Loved
By treetops promises,
Just
As she feels,
This most magical,
Afternoon...

My Dear Brother Poet Tony,

Our puerile princess in this enchanted forest, hearkens to sounds long buried in her past.  They bring maudlin memories that evoke a tear, juxtaposed with a magical love from the past, that brings happiness to her heart.

Peace, Love and Rockets,

Larry xxx
