Merrily I Go
Merrily

Walking, in the early morning dew,
the thick un-cut green grass
sticks to my shoes.
A cool wind sends sweet smells to fill my lungs
of the yellow honeysuckle vine,
growing on the wooden trellis.
The sun's rays cast a spray
of bright light all around me,
as it slowly rises.
Little brown sparrows and gray wrens
pop their heads up and down
looking for breakfast in the damp back yard.
Orange robins and red cardinals
sing 'happy morning to you..',
as they fly through the leafy tree branches.
Skipping through the white gate, merrily I go...
