Mid-life Crisis

Where does the time go ?

I want someone to let me know

It seems only yesterday I had dreams

Now my world falls apart at the seams

After all that I've seen and done

After the many trials I've overcome

Realizing ambitions have not been achieved,

It is hard to remember what I believed !

It was easy when I was young and carefree

Before life kicked the hell out of me

Now I sit and contemplate my later years

Now I feel alone, constantly dealing with fears

What became of the person I used to be ?

Why do I reflect on my future screaming silently ?

Why did all those years pass me by so fast ?

I think nothing I ever did was really meant to last !
