Poem -

Midnight

The Clock chimed Midnight,
That's when The Shadows fled in fear.
They knew what danger was coming,
They knew the end was near.

Cracks formed in the solid ground,
And the Earth began to shake.
The ocean drained of all its water,
As well as all our lakes.

The Moon suddenly disappeared.
As did the sun.
From that moment we were cast into darkness.
And we knew that we should run.

Before any of us could escape,
Our homes tumbled down.
Lives were lost and homes destroyed,
In our so humble town.

Cries were heard across the country,
We lost a fight we could not win,Β
Families torn apart,
Children lost their kin.

Before long, Earth was shattered,
Like broken glass.
And Earths only survivor,
Was a young lass.

Her hair was dark and her eyes sober grey,
Her heart torn in two,
As she'd watched her mother die.
And the girl simply did not know what to do.

Without hope.
Without love.
The girl then took her life,
And jumped down from above.
