Midnight Skies

Midnight Skies

He strolls along the sidewalk,
his black shoes clicking against the pavement.
His brown leather coat wrapped around his upper body,
and his hands in his pockets.
His dirty blonde hair fluttering with the wind,
as his shadow dances around,
when he passes the closed signs plastered onto store windows.
He passes the dimly lit street lights,
and the shadows of many trees.
He stops to glance at the stars,
twinkling in the somber sky.
A comet flies by,
leaving behind a streak in the blackness,
eager to be wished upon.
In the middle of it all,
laid the beautiful moon,
illuminating the night sky,
and not giving a care
for all the darkness around it.
