Midnight Wonder

Midnight Wonder

The Sun yet to rise,
The Moon yet to vanish,
the birds yet to chirp,
a rag picker,  barefoot,
wrapped in rags,
hair uncombed,
fragile body, disgracing look,
picking up the rags,
gulping leftovers,
fighting with stray dogs,
found to her astonishment
heaps of currencies;
For a moment, she erupted
in joy at her good luck soon got vanished like the dews
upon denied by shopkeeper
knowing they are worthless anymore!
