Mindfulness

What was the last sweet you devoured alone
Remember its taste
Did your tastebuds feel love
Who did they praise

When was the last time you whiffed a flower
Where were you, how was the air
What song did the party in your nostrils play

What was the last thing that made you laugh
Did your lungs feel connected to life
Who was the last person that cried with you
Where did your tears go after their deaths

What was the last cherished item you had to discard
Why was it so sentimental
Why did it have to go
Was it truly replaceable

When was the last time you decided not to spend your money
What made you change your mind
Why does life continue to invest in you

When was the last time you bruised yourself
What part of your body was hurt
What caused the injury
Can your heart heal
