Mirage

I saw a future once
I glanced it from afar
yes, you were in it
but so to was another car
the passion that once was both ours
turned into a solo act
so how could I share this passion
when it overtook everything in my life
that I put before my own
this is fact!
we destroy our own lives
by the choices that we make
there is no blame
only accountability 
and yes this I will take
we also create our future
with the choices we have chosen
or what we are about to choose 
my future it was a mirage
you see it 
but was it truly there
I glimpsed it once
I reached to touch it
but it dissipated in my fingers 
gone forever?
I cannot say
if the choice is made
will it be here to stay?
