Mirror...

Whenever you try to do a
"Cut and Paste"
of your faces in life;
It deletes the originals,
Giving all imitations;
It limits to your
Shadow faces
To be unshared faces;
To be unshaped faces;
To be unshaded faces;
It is your mirror
facing
one towards the ugly;
the other, as the elegant

Is the ugly really ugly? Whats really hiding behind the ugly that a mirror cannot pick up? When my face is red and puffy from pouring out my pain in tear drops my brows scrunched down and worry lines across my forehead and Im tired and drained from the merciless treatment of others what does the mirror see? Perhaps tradgedy is an ugly thing because it hurts but the victim of the tradgedy may look ugly, even if they did not provoke it. Sometimes its hard to look past what we see and really comprehend no matter how deeply we anylize. None of us knows everything not even about our own lives. We know if were innocent or guilty we know what our motives are but what do we know about everything else we see hear taste and touch? No matter how intelligent we are, well never see everything 100% clearly but well always learn along the way. Is ugly always ugly? Are there deeper things we dont see? I suppose thats whats good about law, to prevent that which is unruley from becoming uncontrolled. If we possess no moral law theres no telling who the next victim could be you, me, or anyone else, so whatever motive there is law protects us from that which is ugly, but only when law is upheld.
Dear Cherie Sumner,
Thanks for your appreciation of my poem. The concept of "Mirror" is being used as a symbol. Thanks for your valuable comments

Mary christine Ward,
Thanks for your valuable comments. I really appreciate. Beauty, however you define, it is not necessarily be attractive or captivating to your eyes or thoughts of mind. And ugliness is not always repulsive. Besides, tastes changes according to time. The tides of taste go back and forth, erasing aesthetic certainties. This is a truth so disturbing that most of our assumptions about art are immediately and ruinously undermined.
