MISS GEORGETTE

Once upon a time, in a secret garden.

There, growing in a fairy ring, was a beautiful green corgette.

Her name was Miss Georgette!

Then one day, she thought she`d enter a beauty competition with her friend for a bet.

As Mr Sun smiled down

He praised her perfect beauty.

Then said " I bet you`ll soon be wearing that new shiny crown "

That night she snuggled up to her friend, nice and warm.

And they slept quite soundly through, to the early dawn.

Then while they were preening, the next day with such care!

She said to her friend

" Oh I wish I had hair "

Just then a fairy heard her wish!!

Then granted it with glee.

Georgette looked in the mirror so excitedly!

But then she yelled!

" Oh good gracious me!

I look such a sight!!

It`s the wrong colour!

That`s way too bright!!

I wish I`d kept quiet!

See! that`s what I get for having vanity! "

Then she cried and pleaded for the fairies help!

The fairy gave a little magic whistle!

Georgette was so relieved when it turned green!

She exclaimed!

" Now I`m fit to be seen! "

But then along came a little Buzzy Bee,

Who was all stripes and buzz!

Who landed on the tip of her nose!!

Georgette got such a fright!

" Now you`ve made a big hole! right on the tip of my pretty nose!!

Look it will be seen when it comes to my turn! "

Now her cheeks were bright red!

Oh they did burn!

She sat there complaining as she cried!

" I`ll be lucky if the judges even take a look! "

But then she had an idea that she thought was very good!

She got some soil, then gently rubbed it in to the hole!

Then she got the fairies make-up that was a beautiful shade of green.

She carefully brushed it on, then looked in the mirror.

Then happily declared!

" Oh that`s brilliant! now I`m fit to be seen. "

When the judge reached her in the queue, he smiled!

Then he amazed her with 1st prize!!

This made her so happy, she didn`t know what to do!!

She skipped and danced around all day long!

Smiling so much! it began to hurt!

She ran up to the judge and gave him a big hug!

Then kissed him on both cheeks and whispered to him!

" You`ve made me so happy, I can hardly believe I`ve won!

Thank you ever so much, Judge Bert! "

Then the fairy said, " Now that`s my kind of magic!

A little bit of help from make-up never hurts! "
