Missing You

As I awake to a sky so blue,
The only thing on my mind is thoughts of you.

Amongst the clouds I see the sun,
& I realize another day of missing you has just begun.

I walk the beach along the oceans shore,
Wishing to see your beautiful face, more & more.

Beneath my feet I feel the sand.
Here I am wanting to reach out for you, just to touch your hand.

I remember your soft whispers in my ear.
There's nothing I wouldn't give to have you here.

The sky displays its iridescent light
& I wish I could hold you again, for just one night.

No matter where I travel through time & space,
I'm constantly thinking of your unforgettable face.

Soon the moon will rise & the sun will set;
& I am left with sweet memories of you that I will never forget.

There are now thousands of stars in the midnight sky.
I'm remembering the time you left & wondering why?

As I lie down in bed & try to sleep,
These thoughts of you I shall forever keep.
