The Mistress of the Night

The Mistress of the Night

It is that time of night, at the fading of the light, comes along the mistress of the night

She is faithful without fault, always there and always right her modesty, cloaked with moonlight,

To many a man she has been worshipped, but tonight my friends it is me she is here for,

As I lay on my back and look up, oh a summers night, leaves me wanting more

The breeze it whispers of lovers thoughts leaving my body trembling to the core.

This night I swear will be for us, I tell you now you will never know such a fuss, to be there for you

On this night for just us two, to walk hand in hand like lovers do, on a summer’s night for me and you

For you see I lie not, the mistress I speak of, the mistress I sought has been here with me

Right from the start, I love her truly with a love for which i have known not, for she like the tide

Will always come back to thy loving breast, which with every missing moment is like a beat lost.

My mistress my life, my ever glowing wife you are all I ever want to cherish to hold

For I am your man that holds you so true I will love you through good and through bad

Our life together although at times may just be sad there will be times that joy shall makes us mad

This is our life and you are my wife we shall live it together true lovers for ever.

So you may wonder through your mind why I called her my mistress of the night

Because all through the day she is that woman I married she raises our children, and lord knows

I do not know how she manages to keep it together, but then comes night the children are asleep

Here comes my mistress of the night, she walks into the room full of dazzle and so bright

All that I know is that I love you Sarah with all my might.
