MISTY KISSES
Will you meet in the mist of my love's intent
as you pass through my soul
with each kiss while warm emits
the happiness
felt in my quintessence.
Where my love for you rolls in
like London's fog
laying lightly across the entrance
to the misty movement
of happy tears tumbling
and your heart pulling mine
closer to the lake shore of love's
cozy,
fireside embraces,
and long kisses stretching
from each pinnacle
of the warmth I feel
when you're near
to those quietly coursing,
emotion-filled,
and perfectly perfumed,
misty kisses...

Ah Tony! You really are a soppy old romantic at heart, aren't you?!
Even with such beautiful imagery; keeping a love poem like this on the right side of sincere sentiment (the wrong side being cloying sentimentality) is a high-wire act which needs a deft hand and heartfelt emotion...something which you pull off with skill and aplomb.
Also, there aren't many poets who can use a word like 'quintessence' and make it flow so perfectly into the contours of a line.
This is just beautiful.
