Molly's Penny

I found you today
In a pocketÂ
Next to me, in a dream
Held.....
And placed safe awayÂ
Found, the next day
Or even tomorrow.
Still slept.....
Until we woke-up
Tomorrow,
Which will then.
Yet again.
Be held in these human hands
Forever.....Tomorrow.
Tomorrow
I will at-least once
Look into their eyes,
And feel the goodnessÂ
That only a certain man understands;
Which is something taken
For safe keeping,
Cannot beÂ
A stolen memoryÂ
If not forgotten......
Savior love, anews tomorrow....
If not for then
I'll hold this small fortune,
In a dreamer's pocketÂ
For....
All of today.

Hello Devon...
This reminds me of my Granddaughter's excitement everytime she finds a penny...
She thinks someone left it for her...
I don't tell her any different...
I tell her you found it it was for you indeed...
She smiles the biggest smile says Thank you and looks at it and as soon as she goes home it goes with the other penny she found...
Very Sweet Write!Â
Thank you for sharing...
Hugs...

Hello Sparrow, that is very cute and it is those cherished memories that make a penny so valuable. My youngest was really treasuring this penny and ask me to hold it for her because she had no pockets and the writer's mind kicked in of course. Thanks so much for sharing that with me, it's great to see how so many relate. Loce and peace.
I love this poem I would like itÂ
in a frame up by my bed; for itsÂ
sentimental and nostalgic feelingÂ
and writing with style;
great "job" poet Devon.Â
