Poem -

Mom

I picked up this picture of you, mom.

Black, white and shades of grey.

Wrinkles? Still beautiful.

There's beauty in those lines of grey.

The darkness masks a lot, but that's okay.

Beauty shines in those old eyes.

To this day, still beautiful.

Memory's can never die.

I wish I could be this beautiful

in someone else's eyes.

Although the frame is broken

the glass a little cracked

your smile is not unspoken

the beauty that it has.

I do not share your name,

I am a branch nailed to your family tree.

You love me unconditionally.

You love me just the same.
