moons ago

at night she wakes
her babies cry
sits up relieved
prays out a sigh
her babies safe
and grown she knows
her dreams the cares
of moons ago
assured she blows
the angst away
sleeps onwards to
the light of day
at dawn she wakes
a young man smiles
his face imprinted
on the sky
a babe full grown
and stole away
the nightmare just
another day
