MORNING HAS BROKEN

MORNING HAS BROKEN

My days of sorrows silenced my laughter
I lived in constant agony, withdrawn, and depressed
As the burdens of my heart weighed me down.

I walked the streets unaware of my surroundings,
I sought to end my life.

I cried day and night, night and day
Feeling alone, empty, afraid, and worthless.

My heart was overflowing with sadness
But it spilled only on my feet
Being too heavy to ascend to the ear of god.

The desire for food vacated my mind,
I despised the day, and hated the night.

In all of my searching for relief and peace
The world remained my enemy
And I found no relief.

Yet in my darkest hours, I found grace
Heaven came to my rescue
And I was so amazed.

Morning has broken with the freshness of dew
And on the wind of the morning,
The lord whispered,
I Was Always With you.
